It took a lot longer than we thought, but finally we have managed to create the new image we needed to get ATLAS@home running again. The server was started again one hour ago. Sorry for the long delay.

The new work units are extremely large for the initial download for each work unit 75 Mb per WU is excessive. Especially since some people are taxed for excessive downloads. You might want to consider having an initial download for the project and then using the different WU's off that large download.

Just my two cents

I had just run down my SETI CPU work queue, just for ATLAS when the dearth of tasks started.

I think since it started I only get other peoples computation errors.

one task every three hours at the most over four platforms.

Oh well its one way to fix the "Task not Completing" problem:-)

Please kick the Feeder and Scheduler, as most of us do not have the aforementioned problem.

As I'm fighting with my Quid-Setup, may be you get some of my broken WUs as well ;-)

Yeah SQuid , I unluckily picked my most powerful system to install it on.

My SSD in Raid 1 kept dropping offline which caused Squid to generate gigabytes
of Log files, So when things stabilize I will try again on a lighter used system
to implement squid, While it worked, it worked well using proxycap to reirect
all the traffic to Squid.

An unfortunate side effect of the long downtime meant that we did not have enough work units ready to send when starting up again. Now this is fixed and there should be plenty available.

Not shure if you really could produce enough ;-)

I'm just fighting with the Squid Setup and at the Moment it trashes every WU after round about 10 minutes.

I would really need some help for Squid or the SquidBox.

I am running 2 ATLAS@home tasks on my new 64-bit PC. A third one is "waiting for memory". Since there was no ATLAS@home work, I have downloaded other projects, like climateprediction.net and Einstein@home besides vLHC@home. I have 4 tasks running on my 4 core AMD CPU, plus an Eistein@home running on the GPU which takes very little CPU. I notice that if a task is stopped by the "waiting for memory" message, it starts again from zero unless there is a snapshot. But to build a snapshot on ATLAS@home it takes 20 minutes, so the poor third task is always at the starting point, until other tasks will complete. My RAM is 8 GB, OS is Windows 8.1, BOINC 7.4.12, Virtual Box 4.3.12.

I am afraid to have got the "Task not Completing"- problem with all my 4 WUs - what can be the matter and is there any help??
The first WU was running for 31,5h an remaining at 100% for long time – I stopped it to try the next one. But it seams to be the same problem, the third one and the fourth WU also.
Before shuting down I want to wait for an answer.
Hoping for help from any expert.
(pardon my English)

Best would be:

Install the virtualbox enhancementpack

Then you can take a look inside the CM and see what is happening

Is Virtualising Switcher on in Bios?

Is it an x64 Windows?

Are you behind a firewall or proxy?

Does your box have enough memory? Calc with 2GB / Atlas Task

"Install the virtualbox enhancementpack" - I have installes virtualbox for Linux

"Then you can take a look inside the CM and see what is happening" - ??

"Is Virtualising Switcher on in Bios?" - ?? may be

"Is it an x64 Windows?" - No, Ubuntu x64

"Are you behind a firewall or proxy?" - No

"Does your box have enough memory? -yes

Thank you for your answer - without any knowledge of details in computering it is difficult for me - I am sorry.

Open the Virtual Box manager. Go to File/prefrences and see if you have any Extensionpack installed. If not download it from VirtualBox.org and install it. It must have the same version of the Virtual Box you have installed. Then you can see the VM console.

Nope, you are already out of WUs

Please, could you produce more WUs for us ?
