I have made several attempts to run ATLAS@Home Tasks, but they ALL suffer from the same problem - Computation initially proceeds fairly quickly, but progressively slows down as Computation proceeds, and the Tasks NEVER complete.

I am running BOINC 7.2.42 (x64) with Virtualbox 4.3.18 r96516, which I believe are the latest versions of these Programs, under 64 Bit Ubuntu Linux 14.10, with Linux Kernel 3.13.0-37. My PC has an overclocked Intel Core i7-4770K Processor, with 16 GB of RAM (plus an nVidia Geforce GTX 770 GPU).

I don't see any other references to this problem - can anyone help?

Further information:-

1. ATLAS@Home Tasks are 1.27; I have not seen any of the new 1.28 Tasks.

2. Recently Task behaviour has changed slightly. Previously Tasks just ran on for ever, and had to be manually aborted.

Now, after the recent Ubuntu Linux Upgrade (?), VirtualBox reports that Tasks have aborted, and BOINC shows the Tasks as 'Waiting to run (Scheduler wait; VM Job unmanageable, restarting later)'. Tasks remain in this state until after a BOINC restart, when they show as Complete (100%), but with a Computation Error.

Whilst this is better than previously, in that ATLAS@Home Tasks do not waste my CPU time for ever until manually aborted, the fact remains that I have yet to successfully complete a ATLAS@Home Task, and have never received a Credit for any of the considerable CPU Time expended!

I am also having the same problem. I am using Linux-Mint 17 with Atlas 1.29 The job slows down after 5 hours of running. The last task ran at 99.999% complete for +40 hours before I aborted it.

Yeah, Me Too !!! many jobs at 99.9999% and still running.
The requirement to install vbox on by win server puts another nail in the coffin, It might be time to cancel this project.
