Hello,

a new campaign has just been released, a large variety of WUs are being created.

Thank you for contributing to ATLAS simulation!

I just ran two jobs. Both ran for 10 minutes then ended with a validate error.

I found the following error message in the VM Console log that does not appear in the stderr.txt. Maybe it will help with problem resolution. The first two lines are not complete, but they are shown so you can see where the error message appeared.

Mounting shared directory...
[sudo] password for Atlas ...
cp: cannot stat '/home/atlas01/shared/check_env.sh' : no such file or directory

Let me know if you need for me to run some more tests.

http://atlasathome.cern.ch/results.php?userid=973&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5&appid=

I just looked and see I have a page full of those *Validate error* tasks.

The not so funny thing is they send in so I figured they were valid and then started the next tasks over and over.

This has never happened to me before with the previous tasks.

I was getting just enough valid tasks to make it seem like all was working.

http://atlasathome.cern.ch/results.php?userid=973&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid=

AND as you see here members that run hundreds or thousands of tasks get this...

http://atlasathome.cern.ch/results.php?hostid=9987&offset=0&show_names=0&state=5&appid=

So obviously we need an update.

The only obvious thing I see in the Stderr on most of those invalid tasks was it said *Required extension pack not installed, remote desktop not enabled.*

Even though it says it is and has always been installed by checking the *VB Manager -File - Preferences - Extensions

So I will try a reboot and see if Atlas will see the Extensions

(but then the Valid tasks said the same thing)

Same problem here, from the info I can find the jobs starting with a bit of preparation work which is not CPU intensive, (try) to start the calculation which however finishes immediately, then pack inall "results" and quit happily.
Unfortunately no indication as to what is going wrong. Maybe anyone reading here without(!) this problem? Would be nice to figure out where the differences are.

I am running on Linux (64bit, Debian Jessie, Intel i5, 16GB RAM)

With an identical software-setup on a AMD-APU I get jobs that seamlingly will never finish (the same system has succesfully run Atlas@Home work some weeks back too).

Same situation on my machine. ATLAS jobs run 5 minutes, they upload and show a validation error.

It doesn't run because of a missing file ?

password for atlas01:-- -Launching ATLAS Application--
cp: cannot stat '/home/atlas01/shared/check env.sh':No such file or directory
copied all input files into Runatlas
start to run ATLAS job, output is redirected into runtime_log

How far are we in this campaign? Do you have some status on what percentage is done?

Hello,

The bulk of the campaign is done. Outputs are now analysed on the WLCG, it would take a few more days.

Plans are now : change software version, define a large set of WUs dedicated to a physics topic.

more news in a few days....

Thank you again for your support!

Regards
