So, I found that the current ATLAS@Home logo is a bit blurry, so I worked it a bit and ended up with this:

I used a very soft drop shadow on the second one because of the white-ness of who I presume is "Atlas", making him not very visible on a white background (the negative space is not enough to see him clearly).

Hello Chilean,

Thanks a lot for your suggestion to improve the logo!

We were wondering, we have an official color palette in ATLAS, you can find it here:

http://atlas-outreach.web.cern.ch/colour-palette

Would you mind to try to use the ATLAS Blue (or other official colors) instead of the plain gray? Just a try to see if with the official blue looks better...

Thanks again for the nice suggestion and for the work,

Ric.

Thanks for the feedback!
Alright, I switched all color so that they obey the Palette (EXCEPT for the "shadows" of the second image, that grey is not exactly the grey that appears in the Palette...)

Both images should appear reasonably well on any background (both light and dark; I removed the little "white lines" that show around the contours of the images when placing them on top of dark backgrounds).

I think it does look better than plain grey. I used grey because I couldn't think of anything else haha.

Iancone,

I totally agree! Can you please use this new logo and replace the blurry one on the website.
I looks much more professional when it has this nice new logo up there.

Hi Chilean,

As said, your logos are very nice: thanks again for that !

Also, would you have the vector files as well (Illustrator, PDF, SVG,...)? So we could use them to include your new logo in other material as well.

Thanks a lot for your help again, and have a good day.

Best,

Riccardo.

Well, this is embarrassing... I never saved the photoshop files, I only saved the end-products as PNGs. I did though create .PDFs from the existing .PNGs like you requested, although you could use the PNGs (which maintain the transparency) to insert the logo in other materials just as well.

Now, the logo WITHOUT the shadow behind "atlas" looks completely fine with any background behind it (red, black, grey, green... etc).
The one WITH a bit of shadow behind "atlas" (the one being used on this site) doesn't look THAT great with non-white backgrounds because the shadow of "atlas" has a bit of white artifacts around it (which are invisible over white backgrounds). So I'd personally use the one without the shadow for non-white backgrounds.

Anyways, here are the files:
