Dear all,

The new version will be available soon.

We had some memory issues with the previous version.
In this version the update is in the job XML.

Thank you,
Efrat

The memory increase to 2241MB will that solve the issue of:

- never ending tasks
- invalidated workunits

I'm not a credit-(I can't find a word that'd replace the vulgar "w" word, I really need to work on my vocabulary...) at all, but IMO, there should be considerations of RAM usage upon giving credit to volunteers.

1000 seconds of CPU usage using 100 MB of RAM is not the same as 1000 seconds of CPU usage using almost 2.5 GB of RAM.

I like RAM hungry projects tho, it gives me the illusion that it's doing some real scientific research/work.

You may indeed wonder what's kept in all that memory, I assume particle states, what else after all this is a particle physics simulation.

Is it possible to build a new VBOX wrapper using 26178? That is what the BOINC guys are telling me.

Vboxwrapper version 26178 for Linux and Mac and version 26179 for Windows are available. I used them here anonymously and were running fine.

Big advantages of those newer vboxwrapper versions:

- No errors anymore because of VM-saving taking longer than 15 seconds when the task is suspended (LAIM off) or BOINC is shut down.
- A major decrease of disk-io's due to other way to read guest log information from vbox.log.

Hi,

We'll upgrade the vboxwrapper soon (it is already working in our test)
We just needed to see that the memory issue was solved first.

Thank you All!
