Dear all,
may you know something about long running tasks?
Since 2 weeks all WU are running more than 2 days, then I have to stop them.
I use windows 10, no Hyper V installed, I check at windows features, no Hyper V there..... BOINC Version 7.6.22, Virtual Box is 5.0.10
Any idea?
best regards
Patrick

I'll try to help anything, even when I do not have knowledge of this..
First, you can check this:
http://atlasathome.cern.ch/forum_thread.php?id=438

-on point four, you will find the following
4) Check, if VT-X in your BIOS is switched on
normally VT-X is inactivated in many original BIOS

Here you will find the easiest explanation of what it is and how it is turned on:
http://www.howtogeek.com/213795/how-to-enable-intel-vt-x-in-your-computers-bios-or-uefi-firmware/

The VT-X on my Asus Motherboard 'Maximus' was..
in BIOS:
-Advanced
-CPU Configuration
-"Intel Virtualization Technology" enable

I found that I had a lingering issue because I enabled the VT-X AFTER installing BOINC and adding the projects. Anything requiring CPU virtualization would fail even after I had enabled it in BIOS.

I found this tip buried in another project's page (https://github.com/marius311/cosmohome/blob/master/html/user/faq.md)

- Shut down the BOINC client
- Go to your BOINC folder and edit the file client_state.xml (and client_state_prev.xml?)
- Remove the line which contains <p_vm_extensions_disabled>
- Restart your BOINC client

For me this fixed all of my Atlas issues.

problem solved for me. I run the new beta of docker which require hyper-V which doesn't allow to run virtualbox and so atlas@home
