Hi there,

I joined the project yesterday and, after some reading and changes in versions and configuration, I managed to have 3 multicore WUs working and 2 remained "Waiting to start (2 core)" for 8 hours, so I aborted them.
But for the last 8 hours I do not have any new multicore WUs.
I just restarted the computer, changed the app_config from 2 to 3 CPUs and noticed that after restart all the VMs in VirtualBox Manager are Inaccessible, so I deleted them.

I am wondering if this is some error in my setup, or if it is normal.

Details of my setup:
- Windows 7
- Virtualization enabled at BIOS level
- VirtualBox 5.1.4
- BOINC 7.6.33 (should I downgrade to 7.6.22?)

app_config.xml:
<app_config>
<app_version>
<app_name>ATLAS_MCORE</app_name>
<avg_ncpus>3.000000</avg_ncpus>
<plan_class>vbox_64_mt_mcore</plan_class>
<cmdline>--memory_size_mb 5000</cmdline>
</app_version>
</app_config>

Any advise?

Herve

Hello,

On my windows, BOINC 7.6.33 works fine.
I have VirtualBox Version 5.1.10 r112026 with his extension pack.

I don't modify xml files like app_config, really not necessary.
Better to let like that or works on parameters in your atlas account / Preferences.

I think that you should clear Boinc & VirtualBox installation and parameters,
install Boinc 7.6.33 + VBox 5.1.10 + Extension pack, relaunch your PC.

Just add project and do Tools / Run CPU benchmarks that will calibrate your tasks.

And look here if you have problems: http://atlasathome.cern.ch/forum_thread.php?id=581

Cheers.

PS: si tu captes pas je t'explique en français en privé :)

I saw that some tasks were assigned to me and In Progress, but not visible in BOINC Manager even after Updating the project.
I tried removing ATLAS@Home from BOINC and adding it again, but saw that the subdirectory atlasathome.cern.ch remained empty.

The problem was been fixed with the following steps:
1. Remove ATLAS@Home from BOINC
2. Un-install BOINC and delete the directory in ProgramData
3. Download BOINC 7.6.33 and install it
4. Add ATLAS@Home -> this re-downloaded the VM images and added new tasks assigned to me
