Your personal background.
I'm a retired electrical engineer.
I was able to check off one item on my bucket list in 2013;
I was able to visit CERN during an open house and made it underground to see lhcb.
I am happy to contribute to a project that asks questions about the beginning of the universe.
Your opinions about ATLAS@Home
One of the hard decisions about BOINC is to choose which project.
I contribute to World Community Grid because they have the ties to do the physical research after the simulations find a possible target.
I am happy to make a (very small) contribution in processing the data from ATLAS.
I crunched for SETI@home before BOINC was started and I am amazed and vastly entertained by the stories of the SETI admins over the years as they dealt with a huge data flow.
I have a silly vision for an improvement:
The admins of the LHC projects hop a jet to Berkeley Califonia to have a campfire chat with hotdogs and beer (wine) with the SET admins.
